Ashley Shilling, MD
On behalf of Dr. Steve Cohen, ASRA Pain Medicine leadership, and the 2027 Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine Meeting Program Planning Committee, we are pleased to invite you to Houston, Texas—Space City—as we launch into new discoveries, expand the boundaries of our field, and chart the course of regional anesthesiology and acute pain medicine forward, May 13-15, 2027.
Our meeting theme, "Launch Control, We Have Liftoff! Expanding the Horizons of RAAPM", reflects both the remarkable evolution of our field and the vast possibilities that lie ahead. This year's meeting is designed to challenge us to think differently, explore new frontiers, and consider how regional anesthesia can continue to expand its impact on modern medicine and improve our patients' care.
We have assembled an exciting program that combines provocative discussion, practical education, innovation, and opportunities to engage our ASRA Pain Medicine community. We will open the meeting with an interactive panel, "From Black Holes and Breakthroughs to Infinity and Beyond", featuring nationally and internationally recognized experts debating the issues shaping our field. We will explore "Galaxies of Possibility: The Expansive Role of Regional Anesthesia in Modern Medicine", examine how to take innovative programs "From Launch Pad to Liftoff", and tackle the difficult cases in "Mission (Im)possible?"
What makes this meeting distinctive is not simply the breadth of the science but the opportunity to experience it together. Diverse faculty, cutting-edge research, intimate Problem-Based Learning Sessions with leaders in the field, and a large selection of curated hands-on ultrasound workshops will provide opportunities to learn not only from experts, but from each other.
The future is vast. The possibilities are limitless. We'll see you among the stars!
